Socially Responsible Inside & Out

As a company with manufacturing capabilities, Gulf Food Industries – California Garden (GFICG) consistently evaluates its environmental corporate social responsibility (CSR). Additionally, since food production is its primary function, it aims to reinforce social goodwill where required.

Directed by GFICG’s top management team, our production and manufacturing teams are encouraged to be environmentally-friendly in their processes. This includes investing in green technology, developing waste management techniques and providing solutions for cleaner air emissions.

Our marketing team on the other hand examines opportunities for social responsibility and directly incorporates them into the organization’s CSR policies. These opportunities include providing food resources when needed as well as implementing goodwill techniques in countries of need. In their strategies, the marketing team ensures that its CSR efforts are reflected positively on the company’s desire to enforce social goodwill.

GFICG’s employees ensure that CSR policies and strategies are directly aligned with initiatives that each department reflects in its processes. One of our greatest CSR success indicators is in our manufacturing plants. The following is a few of their exemplary initiatives.

To begin with, one of our three factories at GFICG is our effluent water treatment plant. The used water from our manufacturing plant is fed into the water treatment facility, which cleanses the water and feeds it back into the area’s port. This ensures that our used water is not wasted and not dumped.

Further, our production facilities consume a great deal of energy through transportation between manufacturing and storage. One of the primary methods of transportation is through diesel-operated forklifts. Over the past few years, we have begun shifting to a cleaner environmental solution, which replaces the diesel-operated forklifts with battery-operated ones.

On a hygiene level, our food safety facilities have installed new techniques for hygiene and sanitation improvement over the past three years. The facilities have presented commendable milestones over the past three years through strict pest control methods, prevention of potentially unsafe products reaching the consumers and reduced product rejection.

Both internally to its employees and externally to its community and consumers, GFICG delivers the highest standards of corporate social responsibility by maintain its current initiatives and continually developing new standards.
