Although GFI’s early focus was on the production and marketing of its own canned foods, it became apparent that the canning industry held much room for growth. It was understood that production capacity and quality control were not enough to ensure continued success and growth. Ultimately, the growth of the company’s capacity and logistical expertise as well as GFI’s clear vision for growth and the eagerness to penetrate the global bean market initiated the steps that GFI took towards private labeling.
GFI has proudly grown into the company that ships products to thirty countries across five continents with a 500% annual capacity growth over fifteen years. The company’s innovation, quality and management milestones over the years since its inception are the roots of its well-founded reputation for superior quality and speedy growth. It is one of the leaders in the region to complete a system migration using its own internal resources. GFI has earned USFDA approval on its product ranges and has been awarded certifications over the years such as HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. GFI has, formed the base from which it could seek affiliation with internationally renowned labels and gain the trust needed to develop private label products. This has paved the way to GFI manufacturing beans for eleven selected brands as private label manufacture, translating today into seventy products for the respective labels. Pairing up with global brands such as Heinz, Libby’s, Monarch and Woolworth’s Home Brand, Gulf Food Industries was able to provide new products that draw attention to the entire bean range and offer an effective method of branching out its marketing message through twenty brands in over thirty countries globally.
